so, there's cheryl. she lived in delaware--down the road from this shy girl who rode horses, named abby. and when she went to church she made friends with heather. she rode the school bus with chris and later she went to high school & met tim. eventually cheryl went to college and kim lived across the hall. during the summertime she became close friends with krissy, even though they had gone to high school together. during another summer cheryl introduced chris and kim online. uhem.

cheryl's circles had crossed, intertwined, collided!

so cheryl moved to maryland and married jamie. heather and tim got married and had babies and got stationed in north carolina, then okinawa. abby moved to florida, then pennsylvania. chris moved to kansas and is finally moving back. kim stayed put in maryland. krissy went upstate to college.

we'll see what happens from there...

Thanks Krissy.

I'm glad you were able to make it home. Did it feel weird after being away and living on your own in CA for so long? Are you planning on coming home for the whole summer? and silly question... if you are, what are you doing about your apartment out there?

I'm doing fine, my mom, not as well. She just recently had a mammogram that had something on it. Many weeks later, and we just found out that she has ductal carcinoma in situ. Translation, more cancer. Luckily, its in her other breast and not the same kind that she had 10+ years ago. Its also the most common, has a VERY high success rate and is in the very very early stages of cancer. (some sites have described it as pre-cancerous) She's quite bummed about it. I'm trying to keep her spirits up. So far it doesn't sound like she'll have to go through chemo, she'll just have radiation and a lumpectomy (just remove the cancerous tissue). We'll find out more details on treatment on Thursday.
I talked to my sister and was trying to syke her up for keeping mom's spirits up and she replied with "I don't think I'm strong enough." That comment alone pisses me off more than words can describe. The nerve of her to even suggest that she won't be able to fully support mom through this! After the many things that mom has done for her. To be quite honest, that upsets me more than finding out that mom has cancer again. I already know that this is going to be tough on everyone, but her comment.... When mom first found out about the spot on the mammogram, dad broke down and cried on me. He's putting up a strong front for mom, but... I know that he's hurting and upset. I did take comfort in that he said that at least time I was old enough for him to talk about what is going on. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
And that ladies is the major developing story in my life at the moment. Work is going fine. They sent me to Detroit to show a group of doctors how to remove lymph nodes and spleens from rats. I'm thrilled at some of the project ideas that are going around. I can't express enough how good it feels to know that I'm working with a company that is trying to find cures for diseases! (current projects... glioma (brain cancer), stroke and in the talks for tendon/ligament repair) I love my job! :)
